Idea & Concept

Female professional athletes often face poor, and even unsafe travel conditions–a stark contrast to what their male counterparts in the NBA are used to.

We saw a chance to do something about it: Delta Air Lines became the first airline to charter flights for every WNBA team–a move that leveled the playing field and helped athletes perform at their best.

To promote the historic move, we created Power Forward: a three-part content series featuring Nneka Ogwumike, Breanna Stewart, and Cameron Brink, bringing together multiple generations of WNBA talent to reflect on their journeys and the league’s rapid growth. By centering the work on experience and shared stories, the series positioned Delta as an active participant in changing the player experience–not just a logo on the court, but a brand helping women’s sports Keep Climbing.

Following a New York City premiere in partnership with Female Quotient, the series ran across in-flight entertainment, social, and digital, and was promoted vis out-of-home placements in key markets, including during WNBA All-Star weekend.
